This clinical study is based on the 65 cases of healthy hepatitis carrier among total of 1440 pregnant women, who have taken antenatal care and admitted to the Busan National University Hospital for delivery from May, 1990 to May, 1992, and on
the

cases of HBs Ag positive new born to figure out the incidence of HBs Ag in the cord sera of the newborn born to the HBs Ag positive mothers and to discuss the infectivity and possible vertical transmission of Hepatitis B Virus to their
offsprings.
@ES The results were as follows;
@EN 1. The incidence of positive HBs Ag in mother was 4.5%(65/1440).
